Mahindra and Mahindra signs IBBI Declaration
India Business & Biodiversity Initiative (IBBI) with its 6 member companies has embarked on a journey to raise awareness and capacity on natural capital in 2014. Mahindra & Mahindra has signed the IBBI declaration not only to demonstrate our leadership position in addressing biodiversity loss but are also using this refined understanding to gear up for changing consumer preferences, mitigating future risks and creating new business opportunities in green markets and MLDL was chosen to run a pilot within the group companies. As part of this programme, Mahindra World City Chennai has undergone an assessment of impacts and dependencies on biodiversity across entire value chain and developed strategies in biodiversity management.
Apart from IBBI’s programme, 22nd May on the occasion of International Day for Biological Diversity IBBI hosted a session on Business and Biodiversity as part of the programme by the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change. The session was focused on initiatives of IBBI member companies that have positively contributed to the conservation of biodiversity while improving the bottom line of the business.
