Country Heads of Green Building Council (GBC) & Members of World Green Building Council (WGBC) led by CII Indian Green Building Council visited MWC Jaipur
Jaipur, October 3rd, 2017 (GNS): Country Heads of Green Building Council (GBC) & Members of World Green Building Council (WGBC) led by CII Indian Green Building Council visited MWC Jaipur. The delegation was here to attend the 15th edition of Green Building Congress 2017 – India’s annual flagship event on Green buildings from 5-7th October 2017.
The delegation comprised of Heads of Green Building council in Malaysia, Peru, Kazakhstan, Rwanda, Sweden, Hong Kong, Tanzania and senior representatives of World Green Building Council (WGBC) and members of Indian Green Building Council (IGBC).
The delegation was particularly interested in the sustainability initiatives at MWC Jaipur and very happy to know the various initiatives taken by MWCJ at the planning stage for long-term resource efficiency including energy, water, waste, economic, environmental & social resilience, connectivity/transport, community engagement for residents, employees, surrounding community and growing importance of sustainability benchmarking for cities. The delegation applauded MWCJ to be the first project in Asia to receive Stage 2 Climate Positive Development certification from the C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group (C40) for Climate Positive Roadmap for detailing its plans and commitment to achieve a net-negative carbon emissions outcome.
An overview of Mahindra group, Real estate sector and Mahindra World City was given to the delegation through a 45-minute presentation during the visit followed by site tour and visit to JCB facility which is also a Gold Certified Manufacturing facility.
