Highway to success

India has the second largest road network in the world, covering a total of over 3.34 million kilometers. Even though only 2% of the total road network comes under the national highways, they carry 40% of goods and passengers. According to the Planning Commission, the investment in the road sector for the eleventh plan is projected at 93.11 billion US dollars.
